Review of the Stakeholder Workshop on May 27, 2026

On May 27, 2026, EO4Nature, together with stakeholders and the developers of the EO4Nature services, hosted an online workshop on peatland-related pilot applications. Approximately 50 practitioners took the opportunity to learn about the current state of development and to share their questions and suggestions.
Following an introduction to the action areas of the Natural Climate Protection Action Program (ANK) and the EO4Nature indicators, the designs and functions of the peatland-related services were presented. The subsequent discussions with the EO4Nature experts provided valuable insights into the practical applications of the services, such as calculating peatland emissions or monitoring peatland restoration projects.
The direct exchange between users and developers proved to be extremely constructive. The numerous comments and technical suggestions regarding the drafts and potential applications in the action area “Protection of Intact Peatlands and Rewetlanding” are now being incorporated into the further development of the portal and the services.
